| preparation | under stirring, add 25.6g of 2,2, 2-dimethylbutyric acid and 35.8g of thionyl chloride to the three-mouth flask, heat until reflux, and the generated hydrogen chloride and sulfur dioxide gas are absorbed with lye. After no gas is generated, excess thionyl chloride is evaporated, and then reduced pressure distillation yields 2,2, 2-dimethylbutyryl chloride 26.9g with 90% yield. |
